About Samuel

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Samuel L. Davis is a seasoned logistics professional and retired U.S. Navy veteran. Sam (nickname of Samuel) navigated through a dynamic upbringing, attending various elementary schools due to frequent relocations. His educational journey led him to Miami Northwestern Senior High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

Sam embarked on his professional path with a stint at McDonald’s during high school, supplementing his income with summer work in grounds maintenance, contributing to an outreach program for inner-city youth.

Post-graduation, he briefly pursued higher education at Alabama State University before transitioning to a role as an assistant to the Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator for Dade County. 

In January 1992, Sam’s life took a pivotal turn as he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, embarking on a twenty-year career that culminated in his retirement in January 2012. Throughout his service, he served as a Ship’s Serviceman, honing his logistical skills and fostering a deep appreciation for global travel.

Among his proudest achievements are his honorable retirement from the Navy and his extensive travels, which afforded him a broad perspective on diverse cultures and landscapes. Sam’s personal life is anchored by his partnership with his wife, Virgie M. Davis.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Sam finds solace and inspiration in hobbies such as hiking and traveling, indulging in motivational literature and the teachings of the Bible. Guided by a passion for ministry, he aspires to impart spiritual and practical wisdom to newly baptized brethren, nurturing their growth in both spiritual and professional spheres.
