Choose Life, Choose Christ: A Message of Hope and Resurrection

Welcome, brothers and sisters in Christ, to Warrior Wednesday here at Band of Warriors for Christ (BOWFC). Today, we delve into a powerful message: choosing life by choosing Christ. Through scripture, we’ll see that true life, hope, and salvation are found in Him alone.

A Call to Faith: Trust in Christ

Let’s begin with John 14:1-6, where Jesus comforts His disciples:

“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried, and He rose again on the third day.”

This is the hope that sustains us. When we choose Christ, we are choosing life beyond this world. Paul also explains in 1 Corinthians 15:19 that if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are to be pitied. But, our true hope is in the resurrection and the life to come.

The Story of Lazarus: A Lesson in Faith

Let’s look at the story of Lazarus in John 11. When Lazarus fell ill, Jesus said, “This sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God.” Even when Lazarus died, Jesus delayed His arrival to show God’s power through resurrection. When Jesus arrived at the tomb, He called out, “Lazarus, come forth!” And Lazarus, once dead, rose to life.

This story reminds us that Christ brings life even in our darkest moments. Whether we face sickness, loss, or separation, Christ’s power can bring us out of death into life. When we choose Christ, we choose life just as Lazarus was brought back from death.

In Romans 6:1-6, Paul speaks of baptism as a symbol of our death and resurrection in Christ:

“We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

Baptism signifies our old selves being buried, and our new selves rising to live in Christ. By choosing to follow Him, we are no longer bound by sin, but are alive in Christ.

Paul’s message in Philippians 3:8-14 is clear: we must forget what is behind and press forward:

“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

As we continue our journey with Christ, we must leave behind our past and press on to the eternal life that awaits us. Like Paul, we are called to know Christ and the power of His resurrection. By doing so, we choose life and embrace the hope of eternity.

In John 8:31-32, Jesus says:

“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

Choosing life means choosing the truth. When we commit to living in Christ’s word, we experience freedom from sin and death. His truth brings light to our lives and strengthens us to walk in the newness of life.

Choose Life, Choose Christ

To choose life is to choose Christ. In every moment, we are faced with the decision to live for this world or for the eternal life that Christ offers. His sacrifice on the cross, His resurrection, and His promise of eternal life give us hope beyond what this world can offer.

As you go through your day, remember Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 2:11:

“For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.”

This is our message today, choose life by choosing Christ. He is the resurrection and the life. Let His love and power fill your heart, and may you walk in the light of His salvation.

If you need prayer, guidance, or fellowship, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Band of Warriors for Christ. We are here to help you in your journey with Christ. God bless you, and may you continue to grow in faith, hope, and love in Jesus’ name. Amen.
